Cactus Cup

I remember reading about the Cactus Cup back when I was like, 14 years old, I guess. It was held at McDowell Mtn. which is about 45 minutes away from our home in Arizona. Ashleigh and I made it out there last Saturday and got a good morning of riding in. It's been 15 degrees cooler this week than last so we'll probably start riding mountain bikes a lot more, since we won't have to get up as early to avoid the heat.

There is a pretty nice pump track and some jumps at the parking lot. The pump track was a lot of fun. It's like BMX but smaller and without the pedaling. Definitely would be nice to have the BMX bike too.

Dawn to Dusk in December? Same trails. You could even sleep in your own bed before and after.

Yes. You? You could even sleep on my air mattress in the 2nd bedroom before and after.

When I lived in AZ I ventured out there with the same thoughts in my mind of the old Cactus Cup. Fun trails. By the way, it is raining and starting to snow here.

It's on the calendar for us. Hopefully the wifey will have her cycle put together before then...

My favorite thing about Los McDowell is how everyone is riding full squishers with full body armor. At first I thought that there was something more that I must've been missing. Nope. Check out Red Mountain. Es bueno. The road ride out to Payson is a winner too. Say hello to Tempetown for me and check out Haji Baba's on Apache. My goodness gracious it is good.
